The Lake Tahoe Issues and Agencies course is again being offered this fall at the Lake Tahoe Community College.
The class, EVS 151, meets every Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning Sept. 22 until the end of the fall term. The class offers an overview of the regulatory framework and environmental history of the Tahoe basin.
It also covers current issues of the basin today, including the Lake Tahoe TMDL, fire management, sustainability, and a guided tour of the middle reach of the Upper Truckee River restoration project.
Guest speakers are a core component of the course and many classes will include one or more experts familiar with a particular basin issue.
To sign up go to the Lake Tahoe Community College Web site www.ltcc.edu and follow the instructions for class registration.
This course is offered for a grade or for a pass/no pass option.
For more information or if you have additional questions contact Dan Sussman, dsussman@waterboards.ca.gov, or Dave Roberts, droberts@tahoercd.org.
