Come join a community event to learn about genetically modified foods at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wide Awake Cafe, 3434 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

A discussion will include GMO history, food safety and how you can make a difference. Non-GMO foods will be tasted, and the film "The Future of Food" will be shown.

Donations will be accepted at the door to support www.nongmoproject.org.
