Suspect in Tahoe stabbing arrested

Print Comment
A 30-year-old transient man was arrested by South Lake Tahoe police early this morning on suspicion of attempted murder after a 44-year-old transient was stabbed Thursday at the the Upper Truckee Marsh area.

Michael James Schultz was arrested without incident in a tent camp near the scene of the stabbing at 1:04 a.m., said South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Marty Hale.

The victim remains in critical but stable condition this afternoon at Renown Medical Center in Reno. He suffered from multiple stab wounds to the neck and abdomen.

Schultz faces charges of attempted murder, violation of parole and dissuading a witness — all felonies, Hale said.
