Timothy John Grant

Timothy John Grant “TJ” died from a heart attack on November 14, 2008 in South Lake Tahoe. Tim was born in La Jolla, Calif., to James and Virginia Grant.

He is survived by his three children, Russell Grant, Karen Grant-Bailey and Steven Grant, all residents of South Lake Tahoe. Timothy is also survived by his two sisters, Suzi Brundage of Dallas, Texas, and Kelly Grant of Los Angles, Calif.

Tim moved to South Lake Tahoe in February of 1981 with longtime friends, Steve and Jody Hayward, to build the Echo Summit Ski Area. Tim worked as a heavy equipment operator for Cal Trans until he was hired by the city of South Lake Tahoe. He was known for his many skills including those of a welder, equipment operator, and woodsman. It has been said that, “Tim can fix or build anything.” He will be missed by his many friends and family members.

A memorial service will be held on December 6, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the Sierra Community Church Sanctuary on Sierra Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.
