Track and field will be on the minds of many Lake Tahoe Unified School District elementary school students on Tuesday.

A replacement meet for third- through five-graders is scheduled for the Community Youth Sports Complex at South Tahoe Middle School.

The South Shore Elementary Track Classic was canceled by LTUSD on June 2 because of poor weather, and meet director Anthony Davis wasn't available for a makeup date.

Students from Bijou, Zephyr Cove, Sierra House, Tahoe Valley, Lake Tahoe Magnet School, St. Theresa Catholic School and Diamond Valley of Woodfords and home-schooled children have been invited to compete.

Competitors are expected to participate in field events, sprints, distance races and relays. The meet begins at 2 p.m.
