The names of the remaining nominees for Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce Blue Ribbon Awards were announced this week for the green and entrepreneur categories.
This year, recognition in the green category has been given to nominees representing both small and large businesses. The entrepreneur award is intended to acknowledge remarkable people who have developed a unique business, service or product that creates a buzz in the community. The following lists of nominees were submitted by customers and peers from within the community.
Entrepreneur:

The green award is intended to recognize a person or business that has made an effort to significantly improve and protect our environment by implementing a green service or program. The small business category qualifies by having less than 100 employees, the large business by having more than 100 employees.

This event is being presented by the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. Event sponsors include RSN, Tahoe Daily Tribune, Tahoe Beach & Ski Club, Sealed with a Kiss, South Tahoe Lodging Association, Lake Tahoe Gaming Alliance, TravelHost and Tahoe Supply Co. Community members are encouraged to attend the second annual Blue Ribbon Awards luncheon on Nov. 12 at Embassy Suites Resort to honor the award recipients and recognize all of the nominees. Outstanding business community members will be honored at second annual Blue Ribbon Awards next month. The awards luncheon will he hosted at the Embassy Suites Resort on Nov. 12 from noon to 1:30 p.m. Awards will be presented to winners and honorable mentions in six categories: experience, entrepreneur, service in a private business and a public agency, and a small and large green business.
