We live in a community like no other. Not only during the holiday season, but year-long, our community is giving and supportive. I would like to thank everyone who supported the Young Parents' Program at South Tahoe High School this past year.
First, Early Head Start for the beautiful day care center and the one-on-one support they offer each of our parents. Tahoe Youth and Family for their continued support during these hard budget times. The Women's Center who support the teens in making sure they are in non-abusive, safe environments as well as meeting their basic needs of housing and food. El Dorado County Health Department for teaching our parents how to live healthy lifestyles and all their prenatal health counseling that ensures our girls have healthy babies. And this year, a big thanks for the flu shots we received.
This year we would also like to thank Jeannie Beemer for her volunteering to make sure our moms stay alcohol and drug free through her educational program. Tahoe Magic for giving us a donation this year so that no baby went without Christmas gifts; through your generosity our young parents learned the true meaning of Christmas this year. To Blue Go for providing rides to our parents with transportation problems; without your support many of our girls would not be able to get to and from school. And last but not least, the Morning Soroptimists who have adopted our program as one of their projects and provide us with everything from Christmas and Mother's Day gifts for the girls, to diapers for the babies and support for our nurse.
The girls and babies thank each and every one of you for your support and belief in their success.
