SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — A conference to explore the connection between technology, marketing and tourism is set for today at Embassy Suites.
The first SMG Tourism, Technology + Marketing Workshop will help attendees understand where new technologies like blogs, social media, online video, social bookmarking and more can fit into a marketing strategy.
It will provide hands-on sessions on a wide variety of technology topics with two tracks, one with basics to new users and a second with more advanced presentations for those who are more experienced. Sessions will feature experts on such topics as online advertising, search engine optimization, social media, online video, mobile marketing and more.
“Technology has had such an impact on tourism marketing, and it's imperative for destination marketing executives to understand this new landscape in order to develop more targeted marketing programs,” said Carl Ribaudo, president of Strategic Marketing Group. “The SMG Tourism, Technology + Marketing workshop is intended to help marketers navigate through the assortment of technologies facing us today, and provide them with the online tools needed to positively impact their bottom line.”
