South Tahoe Babe Ruth's 50th season is rapidly approaching, and the league has a couple of upcoming fundraisers to get things started.

A season-opening Italian Feast Fundraiser is set for 5:30-8 p.m. April 6 at Tep's Villa Roma. In addition to the $15 buffet-style dinner, there will be a no-host bar, a 50/50 raffle and silent auction.

The league will hold its third annual Texas Hold'em Poker Night at 6:30 p.m. on April 29.

There is a $100 buy-in, first-hour rebuys and prizes for all players at the final table. First place earns $1,000 and second through fifth places will receive $100.

The league will take sign-ups for the 2010 season through April 5.
