A free, two-mile poker run/walk has been added to the Bijou Bash at 11 a.m. Sept. 11 at Bijou Community Park, 1021 Al Tahoe Blvd.
The run/walk is presented by the Tahoe Mountain Milers and Sagebrush Stompers running clubs and the city of South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department.
On the approximate two-mile course there will be five stations; each station will hand out a playing card to the participants. Although the event will be timed, prizes will be based on the best poker hand for each division. Times will only be used as a tie breaker in case of equal poker hands.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age division: 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50-plus. Prizes will include $20, $10 and $5 vouchers for first, second and third places, respectively, redeemable for public swimming, the weight room, open session ice skating or golf at the city of South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex, Ice Arena or Bijou Golf Course.
Registration for the free event will start at 9:45 a.m. and the run/walk will begin at 11 a.m.
For information, call 530-542-6056.
