LAKE TAHOE — The latest series of wet winter storms has dropped 2-3 feet at upper elevations in the Sierra, much to the delight of local skiers — and to the ire of those driving in the mess.

As of Wednesday morning Heavenly Mountain Resort is reporting 18 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours. Sierra-at-Tahoe Ski Resort is reporting 12 inches and Kirkwood Mountain Resort is reporting 16-18 inches in the past 24 hours.
Squaw Valley USA is reporting 36 inches of new snow at upper mountain with the latest series of wet storms that have been on and off since Monday, and 22 inches the past 24 hours. It reports an upper-mountain base of 175 inches.
Just down the road, Alpine Meadows reports 28 inches of new snow with the storm, and an upper-mountain base of a whopping 242 inches, and 141 inches at lower mountain.
At Northstar-at-Tahoe, 35 inches has fallen during the storm series at the summit, with 173 inches of snow for a base.
West of Truckee, Sugar Bowl Ski Resort reports 44 inches of snow this week, showing a base depth at the peak of 219 inches.
More snow is expected Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Reno, which has issued a winter weather advisory until 5 p.m.
Another 5 to 10 inches of snow above 7,000 feet is possible Wednesday, NWS reports, with the potential for 2 to 6 inches at lake level. More snow is likely this weekend, according to the following forecast from www.noaa.gov.
