LAKE TAHOE and#8212; Sandwiched between two weeks of mild, spring-like weather is the chance for a light snowstorm Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

Snow is likely at 6,700 feet and above Sunday night in the Truckee/Tahoe region, NWS reports, following a 70 percent chance for rain earlier in the day. The low temperature Sunday nigh for Truckee is forecast at 25 degrees.

A 30 percent change of snow showers is possible Monday, before the weather turns more mild, with high temps expected in the upper-50s to low-60s by midweek. This week, locals have enjoyed temps in the low- to mid-60s.

Looking farther ahead, a 10-day forecast from www.noaa.gov shows an initial forecast of a 60 percent chance for a rain/snow mix on Sunday, May 15 and#8212; when the Amgen Tour of California bike race begins Stage 1 at Lake Tahoe.
