Environmental photographer to visit Tahoe Art League

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Incline resident, photographer and volunteer at the Tahoe Environmental Research Center, Jim Markle, will be the speaker at the Tahoe Art League's June 8 meeting from 7-9 p.m.

Markle will speak about on his photography around the Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Range. In the four years since moving to Nevada, he has been involved in several environmental projects. Attendees will be among the first to view the new video, "Lake Tahoe in Depth" produced by the UC Davis Environmental Research Center. Markle worked with researchers and other dedicated team members to help produce this informative video about Lake Tahoe and the surrounding watershed.

Markle received formal training in photography as a design student attending the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. After serving in the military, he moved his family to Chicago, where he earned his MA in Communications at Wheaton College. Over the next two decades, his career in advertising design and publishing provided a wealth of experience working with commercial photographers.
