Stateline to stateline bikeway public meeting

On Wednesday, Oct. 5, local, regional, state and federal agency partners will seek public input on the North Demonstration Project (from Incline Village to Sand Harbor) of the Nevada Stateline to Stateline Bikeway, which is a collaborative initiative to develop a premier bike facility on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe with the goal of improving motorized, pedestrian and bicycle traffic safety and access to recreation areas along the congested east shore of Lake Tahoe.

The proposed project includes approximately three miles of shared-use path and a sidewalk on the west side of State Route 28 between Lakeshore Boulevard and the north end of Hidden Beach, as well as trailhead parking and a drop-off/turnaround area just north of Tunnel Creek; the area could include minimal parking. The general public is invited to the event that will start at 6 p.m. at The Chateau in Incline Village.

Tahoe Transportation District, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Federal Highway Administration and U.S. Forest Service are hosting the scoping meeting to provide the public with the opportunity to learn more about the project and to express ideas and comment on the potential environmental effects of two proposed alignments being considered for the shared use path and associated facilities.
