TRUCKEE/TAHOE, Calif. and#8212; Slow Food is hosting a free Food Swap at Truckee River Winery, Oct. 30, 2-4 p.m. A food swap is an event where community members get together to trade homemade, homegrown and foraged food.
The items are your currency to swap with other participants. Meet new friends and neighbors while stocking up with natural, homemade treats.

Dining for trails
The Truckee Trails Foundation (TTF) is joining forces with the River Ranch Restaurantand#8217;s and#8220;Dining for Charityand#8221; program to raise money for local trails Friday, Nov. 4, 6-9 p.m. Thirty percent of each dinner bill, excluding alcohol, will go to support TTF.
Since 2002, the communityand#8217;s trail advocacy, planning, development, and maintenance have been supported by Truckee Trails Foundation (TTF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. During the past 10 years, TTF has helped to maintain more than 50 miles of trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, Donner Lake Rim Trail and the Commemorative Overland Emigrant Trail. Through grant writing and other fundraising, TTF has also raised more than $70,000 for paved bike paths, including the Brockway Road Trail and the Truckee River Legacy Trail.
The mission of the Truckee Trails Foundation is to champion a network of trails and bikeways for community, economic, and environmental well-being in Truckee.
