The comedy isn't rated "G," but that letter will be the theme of the night.
Mark G. headlines and G. King is the host of Tahoe Comedy North, Tuesday, Jan. 17 in the Crystal Bay Casino Crown Room.
The initial begs the question, why wouldn't King go by Joe instead of "G?" That way after a punchline he could always say "I was Joe King (joking)."
"If that was me, I would change it to that," Mark G. said.
The G men are back together after performing some shows around New Year's Eve. G. King recently performed here while this will be just the second CBC appearance for Mark G.
Don't be afraid to sit near the stage when comedian Mark G. performs. He's friendly.
"I improv with audience very well but I'm not mean," he said. "I don't do things that make you want to get up and leave but I kind of poke at you a little bit. My act is like you are sitting in your living room having a good time."
Inspired by Dave Chappelle, Mark G. said it takes two qualities to be a successful standup comedian: "Be good showman who loves to perform in front of people and enjoy writing."
A joke could start with a phrase someone says or a commercial on TV.
"I write on a piece of paper the truth and then I kind of spin the truth a little bit," he said.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show and are available at the Crystal Bay Club, Incline Cleaners, Noah's Video, New Moon Natural Foods and the Visitor's Centers in Incline Village and Tahoe City. For a complete Tahoe Comedy North schedule, go to www.tahoecomedynorth.com
