LAKE TAHOE and#8212; Could it be?
While the forecast for the greater Truckee/Tahoe region shows nothing but mild temperatures and sunny skies through Martin Luther King weekend, there may be a flicker of hope for that long-awaited first snowstorm of the 2011-12 winter season.
According to noaa.gov, high temperatures in the upper-40s to lower-50s and mostly clear skies dominate the forecast into next Tuesday, with overnight lows dipping into the teens.
However, when viewing the extended 10-day forecast at www.weather.com, there are chances for snow showers on Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 19, with a chance for a rain/snow mix on Friday the 20th. Here's a link t othe 10-day forecast for Truckee: www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USCA1163
Still, with high temperatures predicted those days in the mid-40s, it's tough to predict how much snow, if any, could fall.
