SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Lake Tahoe Unified School District is taking their first snow day of the year.
With school busses unable to make the routes and snow covering many of the schools themselves district officials decided to cancel classes.
Schools in Tahoe Truckee School District and Incline Village have also called school off.
Classes at Lake Tahoe Community College will resume after 12 p.m.
Chains are required on Highway 50 and Highway 89.
