UPDATE (June 6, 2013): According to court documents, the charges against Fonzie Frank Preader were dismissed without prejudice Jan. 26, 2012.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Investigators in the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Street Enforcement Team have arrested a California couple, Fonzie Frank Preader, 33, and Sarah Danielle Groves, 21, on suspicion of pandering of prostitution.
The arrests came after several months of investigation into an illegal prostitution ring that the couple was allegedly operating under the auspices of an adult entertainment business named "Sarah's VIP Girls," according to a statement released Thursday.
In October, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received information from a confidential source that solicitation of prostitution may be occurring in the casino core area of Stateline, Nevada.
Sheriffs investigators, with assistance from the FBI, conducted surveillance and monitoring of the area. The investigation substantiated the belief that illegal prostitution was being offered or occurring in the area, according to the statement.
Investigators arranged adult entertainment through "Sarah's VIP Girls" Wednesday. They then waited at an undisclosed Stateline casino hotel room for the female adult entertainer to arrive.
The entertainer was detained after offering sexual services for money, according to the statement.
Suspects Preader and Groves were arrested for allegedly offering and arranging prostitution services through their business "Sarah's VIP Girls". Groves was booked into the DCSO's Lake Tahoe jail for pandering of prostitution. Her bail is set at $5,000. Preader was booked for pandering of prostitution and conspiracy to commit a crime. His bail has been set at $25,000.00.
