Douglas County Republicans will hold both a caucus and a precinct meeting on Feb. 4. At each precinct caucus, Republicans will meet to discuss and debate the experience and qualifications of the presidential candidates, and then to vote for the candidate of their choice.
Precinct meetings are the initial gatherings of party members. Nevada state law requires each major political party, in every year during which a general election is held, to have a precinct meeting for each precinct. All persons registered in the party and residing in the precinct are entitled to attend the precinct meeting.
Attendees to these precinct meetings have an opportunity to get acquainted with other members of their precinct. National, state and local issues to be included on the Nevada Republican Party platform will be discussed.
Also, delegates and alternate delegates to the March 31 Douglas County Republican County Convention will be selected.
Each precinct meeting will start at the conclusion of the caucus held at the same location. Plan to stay at your caucus site and to be a part of your precinct meeting to have a voice in the development and application of political policies in the county, state and nation.
