TAHOE CITY, Calif. — A Tahoe City Public Utility District and North Lake Tahoe Resort Association Community Outreach Meeting will take place at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the TCPUD Board Room located at 221 Fairway Drive in Tahoe City.
Attendees will learn the latest news on the purchase of the Tahoe City Golf Course, officials said in a Tuesday meeting announcement. It will be an informal meeting modeled in a Q-and-A session.
“TCPUD is looking for the community’s input on this important community issue,” according to the press release. “TCPUD/NLTRA would like to share information with you and hear your thoughts on moving forward with the golf course acquisition.”
According to previous reports, the TCPUD board of directors reached a preliminary agreement with the Bechdolt family to purchase the golf course for $5 million.
In an August interview, TCPUD General Manager Cindy Gustafson said the district had entered into preliminary discussions with Placer County Redevelopment Agency, California Tahoe Conservancy and NLTRA relating to financial partnership possibilities. She said the district was unsure whether the property would continue to operate as a golf course for the long term or whether other recreational facilities would be installed.
