Lake Tahoe weather: Sunny skies, mild temps in extended forecast

LAKE TAHOE —-Outside of an inch or so of snow that fell late Tuesday into Wednesday, it appears February will start off much like December and January did — dry.

There is a 80 percent of snow showers Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Reno, with new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible at lake level.

Then, the extended forecast for the Truckee/Tahoe region shows high temperatures in the upper-40s to low-50s into next Thursday, according to NWS and weather.com, although low temps are expected in the teens most days, which is conducive to snowmaking for regional resorts.
