Incline sophomore Evan Vomund recorded a fifth-place finish in the varsity boysand#8217; division of the North Tahoe Pursuit race this past Friday, while senior teammate Melanie Swick finished eighth among varsity girls.
The classic-style race was hosted by the Auburn Ski Club.
Truckeeand#8217;s Jordan McElroy took the win and#8212; his fourth of the CNISSF season and#8212; in a time of 14:27.02 and Katrin Larusson (17:15.69) led a top four sweep by the Sugar Bowl Academy in the varsity girlsand#8217; race.
Vomund crossed the finish line in a time of 15:59.59 to earn another top-10 finish on the season. Swick, another consistent top-10 finisher for the small Highlander team, placed ninth in a time of 19:28.12, and senior Ashley Vomund was 19th in 23:10.64.
Incline sophomore Mariposa Gollery (28:48.85) was 19th in the girlsand#8217; open division and Julie Falk (28:53.53) was 20th, while freshman Owen Price (35:57.64) was 29th in the boysand#8217; open division.
In the middle school race, Alder Creek girls swept the top 11 spots as North Tahoe boys took the top three.
