When Jenna Pevenage was born eight years ago at the Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, her parents knew it was going to be a special day.
Jenna was born on Feb. 29, which is known as leap day in the Gregorian calendar, a day that only exists every four years.
"It is her second real birthday today," Jenna's father Steve Pevenage said of his daughter's birthday this year. "She usually gets upset because she has no real birthday, and her friends just don't understand."
Usually her family chooses her birthday around the end of February or beginning of March.
"Whatever day is convenient for the family to celebrate with her." Pevenage said.
Jenna, who enjoys skiing, baseball and the New York Giants, will have her birthday party at the fire station where her father works as a firefighter, which will make her special day an unforgettable one.
