LAKE TAHOE and#8212; A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. Wednesday for the greater Truckee/Tahoe area, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
As much as 2-3 feet of snow is possible above 7,000 feet by the end of Wednesday from this current storm that began Tuesday night, NWS reports, with a foot or more possible at lake level along the West Shore, as well as lower-elevation areas in Truckee.

The Mt. Rose Highway between Tahoe and Reno is subject to closures Wednesday for avalanche control, according to police scanner reports.
