Village Notes: What's happening in our community

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Happy May to everyone! This is going to be a busy month so start planning now — Mother’s Day is May 13, and Memorial Day is May 28. In between we have a host of fun activities to keep everyone busy.Make your reservations for Mother’s Day early and shop locally for flowers and gifts. Our local businesses need a boost.If you missed the annual Incline Star Follies last weekend, you missed the best one ever. I know I say that every year but this was really fantastic.Thank you to all the community members, young and old, that worked so hard to make this event spectacular. Hats off to all!The Incline Village Relay for Life is meeting at 5:30 p.m. tonight in the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. Still need help with food, entertainment and survivorship committees. And they are hosting a free bowling and lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bowl Incline Sunday, May 6. For more information call Linda at 775-842-7952 or Aimee at 775-828-2210.The Women’s Club of North Tahoe’s spring luncheon will noon on Monday, May 21, at the Incline Village Community Hospital Community Meeting Room. Cost is $18. Reservations must be made by Wednesday, May 16; call Florine at 775-831-9235.The ladies of the Incline Hospital Auxiliary are busy getting ready for their annual Classy Garage Sale. Time to clean out your white elephants and other items (no clothing) and help out our community. The annual sale will be from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 8, in the parking lot of the Incline Village Community Hospital. If you have some large items arrange to have them picked up by calling Cookie at 775-831-2698 or Barbara at 775-832-6760.Nice to see Mary O’Donnell back out walking around after her fall and breaking her ankle. Keep up the good work Mary.I am so excited as we now have royalty living in our village. I am happy to report that Susan Herron became a Princess last weekend at the Carson Country United States Bowling Congress Queens/Princess Tournament held at Tahoe BowlThis was not an easy task but she was definitely motivated as it required a whole lot of bowling in order to win the crown. Way to go Susan!Birthdays to celebrate this week include: Susan Benge and Luis Lara-Rodriguez on May 4; North Lake Tahoe Bonanza Advertising Consultant Stacy Collins, Kay Felte (92!) and Sasha Severance on May 9.
