Village Notes: Whatand#8217;s happening in our community

This weekend is Mother’s Day and a good time to make your reservations at local buffets and restaurants. Also beautiful flowers and gifts are available locally. Please remember all of the mothers serving in our armed forces and especially those deployed and unable to spend Mother’s Day with their children.

With beach days ahead many around the village are out walking, running and getting into beach time fitness programs. Congratulations to Tahoe SAFE Alliance. The staff must deal with vicarious trauma on a daily basis but have taken a walking challenge on to help relieve stress and promote self-care. They have five teams with four people on a team participating in the Tahoe Center for Health and Sports Performance Community Walking Challenge. Each team member needs to walk 10,000 steps a day for the entire month of May. Can you guess how many miles are in 10,000 steps? Check back next week for that information and to see how the teams are doing. Go Tahoe SAFE Alliance!

The Women’s Club of North Tahoe’s spring luncheon will be at noon on Monday, May 21 at the Incline Village Community Hospital Community Meeting Room. Cost is only $18 for the annual luncheon. Reservations must be made by Wednesday, May 16, call Florine at 775-831-9235.

To get tickets to the June 2 Fur Ball call 775-832-4404 or stop at the Pet Network facility and I challenge you to leave without adopting an animal.
