Ruth Josephine (Lambert) Thralls, 72, of Spanish Springs, NV but a long time resident of Incline Village, NV died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Northern Nevada Medical in Sparks, NV.
Ruth, who was known by most people as Jo, was born on May 10, 1940, in Los Angeles, CA, daughter of George and Ruth Lambert. Jo grew up in Los Angeles, and attended Holy Family School. She went on to graduate from Sacred Heart College in Glendale, CA with a B.A. in Home Economics. She taught school at Fletcher Drive Elementary in LA.
She married Richard Thralls on May 9, 1964, lived in Eagle Rock, CA until 1972 when they moved to the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. Rich was a deputy sheriff in Incline Village for over 20 years, where they both were active in the community and church. Jo loved Jesus and lived her life to bring honor and glory to God.
Putting teaching on hold to raise her four children, she later was a substitute teacher at Incline Village Elementary. She was best known in the 90and#8217;s for checking your beach pass at Burnt Cedar Beach, where her happy smile met you at the gate.
She loved the beach, so it was a perfect place for her to be.
She is survived in death by her loving husband, Richard, and her children Cheryl (Paul) Danielson, Eagan, MN, Greg (Veronica), Huntington Beach, CA, Michelle (Jamie) Grecco, Brooklyn, NY and Matt (Allison), Sparks, NV. She was blessed with 7 Grandchildren: Megan and Scott Danielson, Logan and Max Grecco, Brody, Jordan and Ezekiel Thralls.
The celebration of Joand#8217;s life will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00PM at Victory City Church, Sparks, NV. Come prepared to answer the question that Jo would ask you: and#8220;Do you know Jesus?and#8221;
