TAHOE CITY, Calif. — In Placer County, incumbent 5th district supervisor Jennifer Montgomery cruised to an easy win Tuesday night in the June 5 primary election, according to elections results posted on the county's website.
Montgomery received 6,307 votes, enough for 53.75 percent of the vote. According to the Placer County Elections, if one candidate receives more than 50 percent of the votes, he or she wins the seat, and there's no need for a November run-off.
Tahoe voters in Placer County on Tuesday also easily OK'd Measure F, which will renew the local 2 percent transient occupancy tax (TOT) that is charged to visitors staying in overnight accommodations in the area. Of the 1,583 votes cast, 1,331 were in favor.
