Village Notes: Whatand#8217;s happening in our community

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — No worries — beach days will come back, they always do. Mother Nature just wanted to prove that snow was still available and it could happen at any time of the year. Still the snow was not so bad for most locals it was waking up to 26 degrees and seeing all the flowers zapped.

Remember that the Incline Hospital Auxiliary annual Classy Garage Sale is from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, in the parking lot of the Incline Village Hospital. If you have something to donate, not clothing, take it to the parking lot on Friday, June 8. If you have some large items to donate call Cookie at 775-831-2698 or Barbara at 775-832-6760. Go support our hospital auxiliary on Saturday!

Everyone in the community has the opportunity to express an opinion about what they would like to see in the future for our community during the week of June 18-21. The Nevada Rural Development Council is hosting listening sessions during the week for the IV/CB 2020 Vision organization. I personally will be hosting two sessions on Wednesday, June 20 in the Trepp Room at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. Anyone interested in participating can attend. The first session is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and the second from 1:30-2:30 p.m. My sessions are for any of the non-profit organizations and members but anyone in the community is invited to attend. If you need more information or call 775.298.0184. This is your opportunity to stand up for what you want for Incline Village/Crystal Bay. For information about IV/CB 2020 vision go to and you will also find a complete list of the listening sessions at the website.

Have you signed up for the annual Golf Fore Education tournament on Sunday, June 24 at the Championship Course? We have some bowling news but it seems that I forgot to mention one of the favorite Incline bowlers attending the USBC Women’s Championships in Reno last weekend. So I apologize to Carol King, as she did indeed attend. But the event details seem to be another closely guarded bowling secret. The only report that I can get out of any of the other bowlers is that they had a good time. So, if someone wants to spill the beans, I will be happy to share.

Congratulations go out to Sierra Sun and North Lake Tahoe Bonanza Office Manager Pat Greenlaw. This week Pat is celebrating 20 years with the newspapers and their parent company, Swift Communications.

Happy 45th anniversary to Leslie and Dennis Medeiros on June 10. Congratulations!
