Recently, a remarkable lady saved my lost Saluki hound, Apollo, from being run down when she and her daughter stopped all Mt. Rose Highway afternoon traffic in both directions and rescued him after he had been running for hours lost somewhere up near the Tahoe Rim Trail.
Other drivers just made their way past Apollo but and#8220;Vickiand#8221; and her daughter in a blue SUV didnand#8217;t. It takes guts to do that.
Good Samaritans are different and#8230; they care more than most and they have more courage than most. I hope I would have acted with such concern and bravery as Vicki did. My deep thanks to her and her daughter.
