Honoring Tuskegee Airmen, live

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — It’s always a more dynamic experience to learn about history from those who have experienced it and made it. On Friday, July 6, two of the original Tuskegee Airmen, Les Williams and Le Roy F. Gillead, will be honored at the Tuskegee Airmen Honorary Dinner to be held at Hangar One at the Truckee Tahoe Airport.Listen to these first black military aviators in the United States armed forces talk about their experiences and how they made history.Tickets to the Tuskegee Airmen Honorary Dinner are $40 per person in advance and $45 at the door. From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, participants can expect to see the Just in Time Skydiving Team; the Red Star Formation Flying Group; numerous static aircraft displays and fly bys; free EAA Young Eagle Flights for kids ages 8-17; a bounce house; live music, food and beer garden and much more.
