North, South Tahoe chambers of commerce endorse Regional Plan Update as part of new joint venture

LAKE TAHOE — The North and South Lake Tahoe chambers of commerce on Monday jointly endorsed the Regional Plan Update as part of an announcement that both shores are joining forces “to harness the groundswell of support for a new vision to restore and revitalize the Basin.”

According to a Monday press release, the chambers in May launched the website TahoeFuture.org. Its goal is to provide public feedback over the next eight months to craft the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency's RPU and its Regional Transportation Plan by linking residents to information about the complex plans “that is simple, easy to understand and makes getting involved straightforward.”

Below is the full press release issued Monday afternoon by the two chambers, headed up by “B” Gorman (South Shore) and Sandy Evans Hall (North Shore), explaining further the joint venture's goals, along with statements of support from Gorman, Hall and TRPA Executive Director Joanne Marchetta.
