TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; A 4.2 earthquake shook the Tahoe/Truckee region shortly after 8 p.m. Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter of the quake, which occurred about 4 miles beneath the earth's surface, was about 6 miles east of Truckee just on the Nevada side of the border with California, and about 3 miles north of Incline Village, according to the USGS website.
The quake was also felt 16 miles away in Reno, according to the website.
