TAHOE, Calif. and#8212; Navigating your kayak by moonlight is a mystical experience you wonand#8217;t soon forget. Join California State Park rangers and West Shore Sports at Ed Zand#8217;berg-Sugar Pine Point State Park, July 2, for a kayak tour watching for a grand view of the moon rising into the nightand#8217;s sky while learning about the areaand#8217;s unique history. The atmosphere is peaceful and calming, yet spectacular. Paddle leisurely while admiring the moonand#8217;s silvery light reflecting off the waterand#8217;s surface. Bring your friends and family for a moonlit evening on Lake Tahoe.
No experience is necessary and this activity is suitable for all ages. The tour is $25 per person and includes park entrance, kayak rental, life vests and instruction. Wear synthetic clothing rather than cotton (swimsuit, shirt, shorts, lightweight pants, jacket and warm cap). Bring water, retainer strap for glasses and water shoes. Proceeds benefit the Sierra State Parks Foundation. Meet at the North Boathouse on the day use side of Sugar Pine Point State Park at 7:30 p.m. for the two-hour adventure.
