NHP seeking information on Saturday collision

The Nevada Highway Patrol is looking for witnesses of a two-vehicle accident at Highway 50 and Elks Point Road at 7:06 a.m. Saturday.

The preliminary investigation details indicate that a white 2003 Ford pickup driven by Round Hill resident Douglas Rousse was traveling southbound on Elks Point Road and entered the intersection. A silver 2008 Subaru station wagon, driven by Kelsie Stewart of South Lake Tahoe, was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 and struck the left side of the Ford pickup. Tahoe Douglas medics transported Rousse to Barton Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Stewart and her passenger were evaluated and released on scene.

It is currently unknown which driver had a green light. Witnesses to the event or anyone with additional information is asked to call the Nevada Highway Patrol at 775-687-0400 regarding case No. NHP 120706656.

That was the second injury accident in two days at Lake Tahoe.

A 49-year-old Carson City motorcyclist was hurt at Spooner Junction when her 2006 Harley Davidson struck a deer.

The woman was thrown from the motorcycle.The rider was transported to Renown Medical Center by ground ambulance with incapacitating but non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman's identity has not been released.
