The letters to the editor from Richard Reiter and Sandra Richards about Mr. Katz are absolutely bizarre. Mr. Katz has pointed out that the gains made from the tax revolt have been lost to increased taxes which likely would not have increased, but for the tax revolt.
An increase every taxpayer will be stuck with for years to come. So what did we gain? Higher taxes. And who was the real beneficiary? Not the taxpayers.
Instead of chastising Mr. Katz, why arenand#8217;t citizens demanding that IVGID and the fire district cut back their excessive spending to make up for the deficiency?
When Charter Cable charges more for my TV and Internet, or Raleyand#8217;s charges more for milk and eggs, I have choices. Bottom line and#8212; itand#8217;s my choice. Whatand#8217;s my choice when IVGID tells me my Recreation Fee pays for and#8220;x,and#8221; it uses the money for and#8220;yand#8221; and then when the bill for and#8220;xand#8221; comes in it has no money so it charges me and#8220;zand#8221; for the deficiency?
I cannot believe we live in a community with so many successful and educated people, and then I read so many Letters to the Editor from citizens who seem to be lost in space.
We donand#8217;t have world class facilities; we have world class taxes and waste. When you cheer for higher taxes, you have to be and#8220;stupid.and#8221; Calling Mr. Katz names for pointing out the negative results of a tax revolt is and#8220;really stupid.and#8221;
