Volunteers needed for lacrosse tournament

The Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament Men’s and Woman’s Open Division will run Friday through Sunday, July 20- 22, and the U-19 Division will run the following week, July 27-29, in Incline Village.

The annual tournament serves as a major fundraiser for the nonprofit Truckee Tahoe Lacrosse Association.

This year’s tournament will feature 32 Open Division Men’s teams, 11 Woman’s Open Division teams and 16 U-19 Boy’s teams. The addition of the 11 new teams will bring another 300-plus players and the possibility of an additional 300 spectators and friends. This year the tournament could help generate 2,250 visitors to the Tahoe Basin.

Event officials are looking for youth players to volunteer to provide game balls, fill water coolers and help prepare the fields for game time, and adults to help with merchandise sales, set-up and breakdown and scorer’s table responsibilities.
