Thursday, July 19, is the final day to register your child for the 2012 South Tahoe Pop Warner football and cheerleading season. Meet the coaches, get measured for uniforms and receive raffle tickets. This will be the last opportunity for cheerleaders to register, as uniforms are being ordered shortly afterward. Any football players that sign up after this date will jeopardize playing at the beginning of the season.
Registration will take place from 5-8 p.m. at The Sportsman, located by the Grocery Outlet, at 2358 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
The South Tahoe Amateur Hockey Association will be holding travel team tryouts for all age groups on Tuesday, July 24, and Wednesday, Aug. 1. Mite and Squirt Tryouts will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and PeeWee and Bantam tryouts will be on the ice from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Tryout fees cost $30. Checks should be made payable to STAHA. Each child may attend both dates for this fee. All players must have a current 2012-13 USA Hockey registration. All players new to the Tahoe Grizzlies must bring a copy of his or her birth certificate. Additional paperwork and STAHA registration forms will be available at tryouts for completion.
