Incline roadwork: Contractor adjusts Highway 28 schedule to minimize traffic delays

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Back in April, a trio of major roadwork projects kicked off in Incline Village.According to previous reports, planned erosion control work between Incline Village and Crystal Bay on Highway 28, and from the Mt. Rose Summit to Incline on Highway 431, is designed to capture storm water runoff and filter out sediment before it reaches Lake Tahoe. The third project, the roundabout at the 28/431 intersection, is aimed at improving safety while easing congestion during peak traffic periods.Qandamp;D Construction out of Sparks is contractor for the projects, and the Bauserman Group — a Reno-based communications firm hired to educate the public on the projects — has handled PR.According to an email this week from the group, the work schedule was recently amended on the Highway 28 project at the request of properties along the casino corridor in Crystal Bay so as not to affect business. The new schedule has eased traffic back-ups during peak times of the week during the high season, typically from noon into the evening. The adjustment is not expected to delay the project's completion date of 2013, according to Bauserman.Below are quick-hit updates on each of the projects as of Tuesday, as provided by Bauserman:
