AMERICAN CENTURY CHAMPIONSHIP | From Tiger to Twitter, Hank Haney is an multiplatform instructor

STATELINE, Nev. - Golf coaches can be expensive, especially if they have instructed Tiger Woods at one time. Nonetheless, you, too, can be coached up by Hank Haney - as long as your question is less than 140 characters.

Haney, a golf pro and author, is extremely active on Twitter, talking everything from the pro he coached to club choice to mechanics.

One tweet from July 17 asked how to stop sending the ball left under pressure. Haney's answer: "Weaken ur grip, turn through and swing more left." Another asked, "What's the likely cause of taking huge divots and chunking wedges when less than full distance?" Hanks answer: "Flatten ur swing out." Someone even tweeted him a video of thier swing.

Haney chatted about his activity on Twitter after putting the ninth green on Wednesday.

"I love interacting with all of my fans and just trying to give back to the game. It's fun for me so it's something I really enjoy doing," Haney said. "I love it. I love it. I like all the questions. You know everyone is always asking me about Tiger (Woods), but mostly they're asking about their golf swings too, and they want to know how they can play the game better and that's a fun thing about being a pro like myself, being a teacher, you get to help people."

Haney is not golfing in the American Century Championship, but that does not mean his influence will not be felt on the course, as plenty of athletes have asked for his advice.

"Oh yea. Everyone wants to get better at golf," Haney said.

These days, Haney is promoting his book and teaching golf. And with social media, how many days is he teaching now?

"Well, counting Twitter? Every day. Every day of the year. I like it," Haney said.
