Contract OKand#8217;d to improve pair of Incline walking, bike paths

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. and#8212; The Washoe County Commission on Tuesday voted to grant a $292,000 contract to Granite Construction to improve the ability to walk and bike along Lakeshore and Northwood boulevards in Incline Village.

According to a report from Washoe County, the project has two phases: to overlay about 16,000 feet of path along Lakeshore; and an overlay of the Northwood Boulevard pedestrian path between Village Boulevard and Highway 28.

Out of eight bids, Graniteand#8217;s was the lowest, according to the county, projecting about $250,000 for the Lakeshore project and about $42,000 for the Northwood path. The contract is officially for $292,292.

The projects and#8212; which should be finished in about 3 weeks, according to the contract and#8212; are being funded out of a $400,000 allotment of Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Mitigation funds, according to the county.
