Mormon Station State Historic Park hosts Fire Prevention and Awareness Day

Mormon Station tate Historic Park will host Fire Prevention and Awareness Day on Saturday, July 28.

Representatives from the East Fork Fire and Paramedic District, the Nevada Division of Forestry, State Fire Marshal's Office, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Citizens Emergency Response Team, Genoa Volunteer Fire Department and Douglas County Search and Rescue will provide information about how to keep your family and property safe from fires.

Different types of emergency response vehicles, including engines, water trucks, brush trucks, and jeeps, will be on site. Smokey the Bear will also be at the event and children will be able to sit in some of the vehicles.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mormon Station State Historic Park, in Genoa. No pets will be allowed.
