Creative workshops, artisan goods at Bespoke

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Bespoke, downtown Truckee’s newest retail and studio workshop space showcasing artisan-made goods and vintage, custom home furnishings, will host its next community workshops, “Beginning Silk Screening” on Aug. 7 and “Vertical Gardens” on Aug. 8.

Mary Kenny is an artist who creates works on paper combining collage, printmaking, drawing and painting that represent explorations of media, idea and repetition. Mary has participated in numerous art shows both regionally and nationally, and her works are featured in the collections of Kent State University, where she earned her master’s in printmaking, Iowa State University, and Zygote Press, among others. Mary is an associate professor at Sierra Nevada College, teaching drawing, painting, printmaking and design. She will teach the Aug. 7 Beginning Silk Screen class.

Julie Duvivier, a San Francisco landscape architect, will teach the Vertical Gardens class.

Bespoke is located at 10130 Donner Pass Road in downtown Truckee. The storefront is open daily, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday; and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
