Village Notes: Whatand#8217;s happening in our community

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Oh my, August is here again and of course that means summer is coming to a close, especially for all the families with young ones who will be off to school again this month. This weekend is the annual Incline Studio Artists Tour. For information go to www.inclineart.com. It is always fun to see the studios of our local artists.

Also be sure to head over to the Christmas Tree Shopping Center from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5 to the Kris Moose Art Gallery. They are offering a book signing for Dora Levy Mossanen’s Last Romanov. The author has several books on the NY Times bestseller list. For information call 775-831-7077.

A huge thank you to our community for supporting the annual Relay For Life fundraiser last weekend and to all of the organizers and volunteers. This is such a fun event and supports something so important to so many. The pancake breakfast was a great new feature to end the event.

Please, please remind everyone — visitors and locals — that it is bear season. Our local bears are also getting ready for the winter ahead and will be looking for free food. It is the responsibility of all to protect our bears and not put them in harm’s way.

Be sure to purchase tickets now for $60 for the Women’s Club of North Lake Tahoe’s annual fashion show by calling Nan Healy at 775-832-0939. The show is on Sunday, Aug. 12 at the Hyatt.
