HOMEWOOD, Calif. — Homewood Mountain Resort announced the appointment of two new members to the resort’s executive team. Bryan Schilling has been named snowsports director and Tim Rantz has been named mountain operations director. For the past two seasons, Bryan Schilling has been integral in designing and implementing new, dynamic instructional and coaching programs — such as the Family andamp; Friends semi-private lesson — during which a single instructional session includes multiple generations and snow sports disciplines. Additionally, Schilling will launch Homewood’s new season-long competitive ski race and freestyle teams, as well as further develop the resort’s semi-competitive and developmental ski and snowboard teams for children and teens. In preparation for hosting more comprehensive competitions, races, and special events, Schilling will also begin the redevelopment and expansion of Homewood’s competition services.“Within the realm of program development, guest service, and teaching methodology, Bryan’s knowledge and expertise are second to none,” said Kevin Mitchell, general manager for Homewood Mountain Resort. “Homewood is very pleased to benefit from Bryan’s leadership as the resort progresses.”Prior to joining Homewood in February of 2010, Schilling managed the adult snow sports school at Sierra-at-Tahoe for two years; and trained instructors at Heavenly Mountain Resort for five years. As a member of the western technical and demonstrative teams with the Professional Ski Instructors of America, the sanctioning group which determines instructional standards for snow sports schools across the U.S., Schilling is one of the country’s top instructors and teaching method developers. A 13-year veteran of Homewood Mountain Resort, Tim Rantz has been named mountain operations director. Rantz will oversee all on-mountain departments, including snow making and grooming, vehicle and lift maintenance and operations, ski patrol, and terrain parks. Prior mountain operations director, Rantz oversaw the resort’s human resource programs and processes as well as mountain departments such as lift operations. Additionally, his year-round expertise has played an integral role in several additional departments including ski patrol, risk management, and off-season trail maintenance. “Tim possesses a unique combination of operational and administrative expertise, which will prove invaluable for streamlining operations and interdepartmental communications in the immediate future and for many years to come,” Mitchell stated. “As Homewood endeavors toward a new future following its master plan, it is imperative for the resort to identify key executive staff, which will prove essential in furthering Homewood’s overall experience for guests and employees.
