TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Truckee Donner Utility District is pleased to announce Trisha Ruby has come on board as the new conservation program administrator following Scott Terrelland#8217;s recent retirement from the position. Ruby comes to the PUD with an extensive background in product development and mechanical engineering and brings with her a passion for renewable energy and energy conservation.
Ruby is originally from Reno, Nev. but has lived in the Truckee area for the past 10 years. She holds a bachelorand#8217;s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and a masterand#8217;s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Davis. The bulk of her career has been in product development where she worked on everything from satellites to orthopedic implants. She was most recently with Synergy Technology of Reno for the past 13 years. Ruby has always been personally interested in energy conservation and specifically energy efficient products. Ruby feels the position of conservation program administrator will allow her to put her fascination with energy conservation to practical use.
The conservation program administrator is responsible for developing new programs and managing existing commercial conservation programs. In addition to overseeing program creation and implementation she will find new products that work within program guidelines. and#8220;I bring a unique perspective to the position because of my product development background. Especially when it comes to lighting products, I believe that LEDs are the future, but still in their infancy. We have a good idea of what to expect from the future and it is exciting to be a part of it,and#8221; said Ruby. and#8220;We had many qualified candidates and Trish rose to the top,and#8221; said Steven Poncelet, TDPUD public information and conservation manager. and#8220;Our customers are really going to benefit from her knowledge and experience.and#8221;
