State Parks teams with Senator Ted Gaines, free community open house at Ed Zand#8217;berg Sugar Pine State Park

TAHOE, Calif. — The public is invited to a free community open house at Ed Z’berg Sugar Pine State Park on Sunday, Aug. 12, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to learn about what is new at the park and the venues now available to rent for private events. Venues include outdoor wedding and reception sites, the newly included foyer of the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion and the private front lawn of the Children’s House to include a preparation kitchen. “We are thrilled to offer the public the opportunity to have their special occasion events within the historic zone of the park, enabling them to experience the exceptional qualities that have brought generations of families to this area,” notes Parks spokesperson Heidi Doyle.

Senator Gaines will attend the event to lend his support to State Parks for creating venues that will generate revenue for the parks, enabling the continued operation and maintenance of Lake Tahoe treasures. Funds generated return to the local park units. The Senator will greet visitors at the Children’s House between 11 a.m. and noon.

In addition to Senator Gaines, the Sierra Parks Foundation will be on hand to share their vision for keeping our local parks open and provide an overview of the current restoration efforts that are in progress on the property.

Park entrance fees will be waived for the duration of this event as well as tour fees for the historic Hellman-Ehrman Mansion for the 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. tours.
