The Tallac Historic Site will host its 27th annual Great Gatsby Festival this weekend.
The weekend is a celebration of the Roaring Twenties, honoring the heyday of the three magnificently-restored estates on the site. Weekend activities will include Pope House tours, the annual Great Gatsby Tea, vintage children's games, vintage automobiles on display, a speakeasy, old-time movies, artists, craftsmen, musicians, and food vendors. The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Tahoe Youth & Family Services will host its second annual Great Gatsby Gala at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa on Saturday, Aug. 11.
Dancing, roaring 1920s entertainment, cocktails, a raffle and Charleston lessons will all be part of the evening. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $50 each and include dinner, dancing and one libation. Proceeds will benefit TYFS and the youth and families in the community that it serves.
