INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. and#8212; This is my friend Jan Foss. She was the teacher of my very first watercolor class. Over the years she became not only my favorite teacher, but a wonderful friend. She worked hard at her craft and was very unselfish with her knowledge. She told you everything you needed, or wanted to know. If she knew it, the gift was yours.
To her, painting was the one thing in her life that made her whole. It filled all the things missing in her life and enriched everything else. To her, painting was a gift for many reasons.
I canand#8217;t begin to tell you how much Iand#8217;ll miss her. She loved to paint flowers but had a special place in her heart for and#8220;Angels.and#8221; I never really understood it, but she really believed the Angels she painted actually appeared for her. I believe this faith helped her deal with tragedy. I really pray that they were with her every time, right to the end. The Angel paintings were special and made only for individuals who requested them personally.
Janand#8217;s Gallery was in Incline Village Nevada. She won many awards for her paintings, and did a lot work for her community. Itand#8217;s funny that she never really updated her website; the same pictures have been there for years. The only thing she ever updated was her class schedule. Her gallery was absolutely full. I know she sold a lot of her paintings, but mostly she was a teacher. Iand#8217;m sure there are many out there like me who have been equally enriched just for knowing her.
God Bless you Jan, and I wish you fair travel home and#8220;with the Angels.and#8221;
Janand#8217;s friend,
Phyllis Ringstad
